Are you teaching a unit on numbers to 100 or numbers to 120, or are you teaching a unit about patterns on the hundreds chart? If so, these Hundreds Chart Activities will help your students practice these math skills in a fun and engaging way! These activities can be used during a unit on the hundreds chart or 120 chart, for early finishers, or in math stations as a review!

Learning Numbers to 100 and 120 Using Hundreds Chart Activities

If your students are practicing counting to 100 or counting to 120, these Hundreds and 120 Charts will be a great reference tool! You might display these in the classroom or add them to your students’ math toolkits. For a fun hundreds chart activity, call out a number and have students find and circle the number with a dry-erase marker or cover it with a math manipulative. For a partner activity, you could give students a set of ten math tools (such as Unifix Cubes) and have them cover 10 numbers on the chart. Their partner would have to write or name the numbers that are covered. Partners can take turns for a fun activity to practice number patterns and counting.

Once students recognize patterns on the hundreds or 120 chart, you could give students a 120 Chart Detective sheet or a Hundreds Chart with missing numbers for fun hundreds chart activities. Students can practice filling in the missing numbers. For repeated use, laminate or place in dry erase pockets or sheet protectors. Finally, for the ultimate challenge, give students a blank copy of a hundreds or 120 chart. Students will have to fill in ALL of the numbers to 100 or 120.

While learning about numbers to 100 and 120, students love to practice with these hundreds chart puzzles! I print multiple copies on different sheets of color paper; then, I cut apart the charts in varying ways. For easier puzzles, I might cut apart each row for a total of 10 pieces on a 100 chart. For more challenging puzzles, I will cut 100 charts and 120 charts into much smaller pieces in varying shapes! Students love to practice with these hundreds chart activities during whole group lessons with a partner or in math centers.

If you would like to use these hundreds chart activities with you students, I’ve put all of the activities together in a packet that you can download for free.
