This Groups of Tens and Ones Place Value activity can be used in many ways: a whole class math scoot game, an independent write the room math center or solve the room activity, or a fun small math group activity! It is perfect for any math lesson or math station and for reinforcing early place value skills in an engaging, active way!
Whether playing a scoot game, completing independent task cards, or participating in a math write the room activity, students will practice identifying groups of ten and understanding how those groups relate to the number of ones. This activity reinforces the concept that 1 ten = 10 ones in a hands-on, visual way. Students will look at pictures of objects grouped into tens and determine:
