Are your students learning how to add tens? This Adding Tens Scoot Game/Task Card activity gives students fun and hands-on practice with two-digit addition using only multiples of ten. With the support of base ten blocks, students will add numbers like 20 + 30, 40 + 50, or 70 + 10 to solve two-digit addition without regrouping number sentences.

Each task card shows groups of tens using base ten blocks. Students will add tens and record the correct sum on their recording sheet. This interactive activity helps students develop a deeper understanding of place value, practice mental math, and recognize how groups of tens combine to make new numbers. Both color and black-and-white versions of the task cards are included—the black-and-white version is perfect for saving ink!
