Parent Teacher Conference Handouts

As an elementary teacher, I often juggle lesson planning, making copies, gathering materials, grading papers, answering parent emails, and so much more simultaneously! When parents reach out to me with questions, I love being able to not only answer their questions but also provide them with materials and resources to help support their child’s learning at home. Furthermore, at parent-teacher conference time, I am always struggling to gather data and find materials and resources to provide to parents at conferences so they can leave with ideas to support their child’s learning at home.

After experiencing this feeling, I decided to create parent handouts full of explanations and easy-to-implement ideas for literacy, math, fine motor, writing, and summer review, so I would have them ready to go for parent-teacher conferences or any time I needed to send suggestions to a parent. They have been a timesaver!

Building Skills at Home Parent Handouts

This packet of informational handouts is aimed at parents of children in grades K-2. Each subject-themed sheet contains tips, ideas, and strategies parents can use to build their child’s literacy, letter recognition, sight word recognition, fine motor, handwriting, writing, spelling, math, math fact, and number recognition and counting skills at home. These would be perfect to attach to a weekly newsletter, pass out at the beginning of the school year, or hand out at parent-teacher conferences or parent nights! Handouts come in both English and Spanish!
